John Cena Drops Major Hint About Facing AJ Styles Again—But What About That Brock Lesnar Rematch?

John Cena’s farewell tour just got even more intriguing. After being demolished by Brock Lesnar in under ten minutes at WWE Wrestlepalooza, fans expected a blockbuster rematch to be looming. But according to top insiders, that’s not happening—and Cena might already have his eyes on a different rival.

The 16-time World Champion (and counting, since WWE keeps the official tally at 16 despite fan debates) has only five matches left in his career. His schedule includes Crown Jewel in Perth, Survivor Series, two Raw appearances, and his grand retirement bout at Saturday Night’s Main Event in December. Naturally, everyone assumed Lesnar would be in line for a final showdown.

But Wrestling Observer reports say WWE has no plans for Cena vs. Lesnar II, leaving many scratching their heads over why Cena was fed to The Beast at Wrestlepalooza. Word is, the call may have come from Cena himself, eager to make Brock look unstoppable heading into his next big feud.

So if not Lesnar… Who’s left for Cena?

That answer may have come directly from Cena’s own social media. On Monday night, he casually dropped a bomb by asking fans what they thought about him squaring off against AJ Styles one more time. Predictably, the internet exploded with excitement.

Cena and Styles had one of WWE’s most legendary rivalries in 2016–2017, producing instant classics that fans still rave about. Cena even paid tribute to Styles at Clash in Paris just weeks ago by hitting AJ’s signature move on Logan Paul. Now, reports suggest that one final Cena vs. Styles dream match is still very much on the table.

While Cena has been honoring past opponents like Adam Copeland, Kurt Angle, and Baron Corbin by pulling moves from their arsenals, there’s one name fans desperately want to see him close this chapter with—and it’s AJ Styles.

So, with only five matches left, the question is simple: Will Cena ride off into the sunset against “The Phenomenal One,” or will WWE throw him one last curveball?
