Breaking: The Rock’s WWE Return Plans Shut Down – Fans May Be Waiting Longer Than Expected

The WWE Universe has been buzzing for months about when—or if—The Rock will step back inside the squared circle. After dominating the first part of 2025 with surprise appearances on Raw, SmackDown, and even NXT alongside his daughter Ava, “The Final Boss” shocked the world by igniting John Cena’s first-ever heel turn during Elimination Chamber.

That moment had fans convinced The Rock would play a massive role in the heated John Cena vs. Cody Rhodes rivalry heading into WrestleMania 41. Instead, he suddenly vanished from WWE programming, leaving everyone questioning his future.

In a post-WrestleMania interview with Pat McAfee, The Rock tried to explain his absence — but fans weren’t buying it. With his Hollywood commitments always looming, Johnson’s time in WWE has been harder to predict than ever, despite his strong ties with Triple H and Nick Khan.

Survivor Series Return? Not So Fast…

Recently, rumors swirled that The Rock could be making a blockbuster comeback at Survivor Series 2025. But according to Ringside News, WWE has no immediate plans for “The Great One” to return to action.

Why? Because The Rock’s Hollywood schedule is once again taking priority. He’s set to star in Martin Scorsese’s next big film, sharing the screen with Leonardo DiCaprio and Emily Blunt — a project that all but rules out any WWE comeback this year.

For now, fans will have to wait until at least early 2026 before they can realistically hope to see The Rock electrify a WWE ring again.
