The Rock Reveals He Knew About Osama Bin Laden’s Death Before President Obama Announced It
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson once again proved that he’s always got inside connections — even when it comes to world-changing news.
Back in May 2011, when U.S. forces took down Al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden in Pakistan, the entire world waited for President Barack Obama’s official announcement. But before Obama even stepped up to the podium, The Rock had already hinted at something big on Twitter — leaving fans completely puzzled.
Now, years later, The Rock has opened up about that moment in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

“I got a call from a friend of a friend,” he recalled. “They told me, ‘Hey, this thing happened.’ I said, ‘Okay, that’s incredible news.’ Then they mentioned the president was going to make his speech in about 20 minutes.”
So, The Rock waited — and tweeted about it roughly 25 minutes later. But here’s the twist — President Obama hadn’t actually spoken yet.
“I got another call saying, ‘Yeah, the president didn’t go on yet.’ And I went, ‘Oh, s**t,’” The Rock laughed.
It was one of those rare times when Hollywood’s biggest star accidentally broke one of the biggest stories in modern history — before the White House did.
