Bryan Danielson Reveals He Has Suffered 13 Documented Concussions in His Wrestling Career
Fans of Bryan Danielson know he’s one of the toughest, most passionate performers in the wrestling world — but his latest revelation shows just how much he has sacrificed for the sport he loves.
During a candid conversation with Chris Van Vliet, Danielson opened up about the physical toll his 25+ year career has taken. He revealed that he has 13 documented concussions, and even he isn’t sure if that number tells the full story.

“Back when I started in 1999,” Danielson said, “people didn’t even call it a concussion. They would just say you got ‘dinged’ or ‘your bell got rung’. With everything we know today, it’s clear that was probably way too many. Honestly… it’s probably more than 13.”
His honesty highlights how far the wrestling world has come in understanding head injuries — and how dangerous the old mindset was.
Danielson also admitted that his weekly travel schedule for AEW commentary has been tough, adding another layer of strain to an already demanding career.
His full interview dives deeper into his struggles, mindset, and what keeps him going despite everything he’s endured.
