First Look: Cody Rhodes & Roman Reigns Make Their Street Fighter Movie Debut

Fans finally got what they’ve been waiting for—our first official look at WWE megastars Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns in the upcoming Street Fighter live-action movie. The big reveal dropped Thursday night at The Game Awards in Los Angeles, and the reaction online has already exploded.

The cast hit the stage to premiere a brand-new 45-second teaser, giving viewers their first taste of more than a dozen legendary characters from the iconic game franchise.

Cody Rhodes as Guile — And He Looks Incredible

Just six seconds into the trailer, fans were greeted by the unmistakable towering blond flattop of Guile, played by the current WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes. A few moments later, Rhodes got one of the trailer’s spotlight moments—showing off a slick jumping flip kick on Vega.

With the hair, the build, and the attitude, Rhodes’ transformation into Guile has already won over longtime Street Fighter followers.

Roman Reigns Debuts as Akuma — Blink and You Miss Him

At the 20-second mark, Roman Reigns finally appears on screen—brief but powerful. The Tribal Chief steps into the role of the demonic powerhouse Akuma, marking his official Hollywood reveal after years of fan speculation.

The trailer also showcased NJPW’s Hirooki Goto as E. Honda, adding to an already stacked cast.

Star-Studded Lineup

The film’s official X account also released high-quality stills of 17 cast members, which include:

  • Andrew Koji as Ryu
  • Noah Centineo as Ken
  • Callina Liang as Chun-Li
  • 50 Cent as Balrog
  • Jason Momoa as Blanka
  • David Dastmalchian as M. Bison

With actors like these, the movie is gearing up to be one of the biggest gaming adaptations ever made.

Fans React: “Already Better Than the 1994 Version”

Early reactions to the teaser have been overwhelmingly positive. Many fans are hopeful this reboot will far surpass the infamous 1994 version starring Jean-Claude Van Damme—who, ironically, also played Guile.

Now, more than 30 years later, Cody Rhodes carries the torch for a character with huge expectations.

Will Guile vs. Akuma Happen?

Reigns added fuel to the fire by sharing his Akuma look on X, teasing fans with the possibility of onscreen chaos.

But whether the two characters actually collide in the movie remains a mystery.

Meanwhile in WWE… WrestleMania 42 Incoming?

Even if Guile and Akuma never cross paths on film, Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns look destined to clash again where it all began: inside a WWE ring.

According to reports, the current plan for WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas is for Rhodes to defend his WWE Championship against The Tribal Chief. Their tense staredown at Survivor Series: WarGames was designed as the first chapter toward their next—and possibly most important—showdown.

If the match becomes official, it will mark their fourth WrestleMania battle in four years.
