🔥 “Better Than the Attitude Era?” Bruce Prichard Says TODAY Is the Greatest Time in Wrestling History

WWE executive and longtime industry veteran Bruce Prichard is making a bold claim — and it’s one that’s already sparking debate among fans.

During a recent appearance on the WFAN podcast, Prichard declared that the current era of professional wrestling has officially surpassed every generation that came before it, including the legendary boom periods of the 1980s and 1990s.

And according to him, the numbers don’t lie.

With more than 50 years in the business, Prichard pointed to massive business growth, worldwide popularity, and fan engagement as proof that wrestling is stronger than it’s ever been.

“The Business Isn’t Broken — It’s Evolving”

Prichard addressed a familiar argument often heard from old-school fans who believe wrestling was better “back in the day.”

“I hear people start off by saying, ‘I’m going to tell you what’s wrong with the business.’ There’s nothing wrong with the business,” Prichard said. “If you truly love it, you understand it grows, it changes, and it becomes different. It’s not better or worse — it’s just different.”

He added that what excites him most is seeing how deeply fans are connecting with today’s product.

“You walk down the street and see WWE merchandise everywhere. People recognize me on the street. That’s a good feeling. We’re growing every night.”

Why THIS Era Feels Special to Prichard

Prichard made it clear that he isn’t dismissing the past. In fact, he fondly remembers every era he lived through — from the territorial days of the ’70s to the Attitude Era and beyond.

But for him, the present stands above the rest.

“The ’70s were great. The ’80s were awesome. The ’90s were good. The 2000s were kind of a rebuilding period,” he explained. “But right now? It’s exciting.”

A huge reason for that excitement is the next generation of WWE Superstars.

“You look at the young talent in NXT and the Performance Center in Florida — they’re hungry. They want this so badly. That’s what makes this moment special.”

“Number One Because It’s About the Future”

While many fans argue endlessly about which era was the best, Prichard believes the answer lies in what’s still ahead.

“Right now, in this moment, I think this is one of the best times ever — and I’d say number one. Because it’s about looking to the future and seeing what’s coming next.”

Love it or hate it, Bruce Prichard’s statement is clear: wrestling isn’t declining — it’s thriving. And in his eyes, the best chapter in wrestling history is being written right now. 💥
