🚨 “My Calendar Was FULL… Then WWE Fired Me” — Jinder Mahal Reveals the Shocking Call That Changed Everything
Jinder Mahal has opened up about one of the most unexpected and gut-wrenching moments of his wrestling career—his first release from WWE, and it turns out he never saw it coming.
Speaking candidly on Inside the Ropes, Mahal reflected on his initial WWE run from 2010 to 2014, a period where he was grinding on the road as part of 3MB. Despite not being a major TV star at the time, Jinder says his schedule told a very different story.
“I was on live events my entire WWE career back then,” Mahal explained. “We’d get our calendars three months in advance, and mine was completely packed. All of 3MB was on every show.”
Because of that, the idea of being released didn’t even cross his mind. When he got an early-morning phone call from WWE executive Mark Carrano, Mahal assumed it was just another routine update—maybe a loop change or a minor schedule adjustment.
Instead, the call delivered devastating news.

“He said, ‘I’ve got some bad news. Creative doesn’t have anything for you right now. We have to release you,’” Mahal recalled. “Your stomach just sinks.”
At that point in his career, the reality hit even harder. Jinder admitted that 3MB—despite its comedic popularity—was the biggest thing he had done in WWE, and even that felt like it hadn’t truly gone anywhere.
“I hadn’t done much yet. Then suddenly, I was on my own for two years.”
Of course, wrestling fans now know how that story eventually turned out—with Mahal defying the odds, reinventing himself, and later becoming WWE Champion. But this revelation highlights just how sudden and unpredictable life in WWE can be—even when your calendar says everything is fine.
Sometimes, one phone call really can change everything.
