🔥 “I Was Run Into the Ground” — The Rock Gets Real About WWE’s Brutal Grind & His Uncertain Future 🔥
WWE icon The Rock may be one of the biggest global superstars today, but his journey to the top was anything but glamorous—and he’s finally opening up about it.
Although Dwayne Johnson’s full-time wrestling career didn’t last decades, his impact on WWE is undeniable. From the moment he stepped into the ring, fans could sense something special. That natural charisma, unmatched presence, and connection with the audience are why the WWE Universe still treats “The Final Boss” like royalty—even when he shows up only once in a while.
Earlier this year, The Rock made waves with several WWE appearances, most notably playing a key role in John Cena’s shocking heel turn during Cena’s heated rivalry with Cody Rhodes. Many fans believed Rock would stick around through WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas, but instead, he vanished from WWE TV completely—and didn’t even appear at the biggest show of the year.
The sudden disappearance left fans confused and insiders guessing. While The Rock briefly addressed the situation in an interview with Pat McAfee, his WWE status remains unclear, especially since he hasn’t appeared at all in the second half of 2025.
Now, during a candid chat with Joel Madden on the Artist Friendly podcast, The Rock pulled back the curtain on the intense pressure and physical toll of his early WWE days.

“Back then, we were working 230 to 240 dates a year,” Rock revealed. “It’s performance after performance. Matches could go anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes, depending on the night.”
And that was just the beginning.
“You’re trying not to get injured, but surprise injuries still happen,” he added. “We’d pack up after one show and drive straight to the next town. Some guys were working over 300 dates a year—they were completely run into the ground. It was insane.”
Those grueling years shaped The Rock into the megastar he is today—but they also explain why balancing Hollywood dominance and WWE commitments is nearly impossible now.
Whether or not The Great One ever steps back into a WWE ring remains a mystery. But one thing is clear: the road that made The Rock was brutal, relentless, and far from easy—and fans are now seeing that side of the legend like never before. 💥
