🔥 Roman Reigns’ WrestleMania 42 Opponent REVEALED? Injury Twist Forces WWE to Rethink Everything! 🔥

WWE’s WrestleMania 42 plans have reportedly taken a dramatic turn—and Roman Reigns is once again at the center of it all.

According to a new backstage report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has been forced to reshuffle its main event plans after a major update on Seth Rollins’ injury status. And the ripple effect could lead to a blockbuster rematch fans know all too well.

🚑 Seth Rollins’ Injury Changes the Game

Dave Meltzer reports that Rollins is now expected to be sidelined for another three to four months, a timeline that puts his WrestleMania return in serious doubt.

Rollins himself reportedly shared the updated recovery estimate, making it clear that a comeback in time for WrestleMania is far from guaranteed.

“Rollins this week estimated being out three to four more months. WrestleMania is three-and-a-half months away,” Meltzer noted, adding that while the door was once open, it now looks nearly shut.

In short: Rollins vs. Roman Reigns is off the table—for now.

👑 WWE Turns Back to a Proven Mega Match

With Rollins unlikely to be cleared, WWE is reportedly pivoting to a match that already has unfinished business written all over it:
Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns.

Meltzer revealed that Rollins vs. Reigns was originally planned as a WrestleMania title match for one of the nights, but those plans have now been scrapped. Instead, WWE is said to be eyeing Rhodes vs. Reigns as the true headline attraction.

“It’s looking like Rhodes vs. Reigns as the big match of the show,” Meltzer stated.

🔥 SmackDown Hints at the Bigger Picture

This potential showdown comes right after a tense face-off between Rhodes and Reigns on SmackDown. While the show ended with Drew McIntyre standing tall and setting up a brutal Three Stages of Hell title match against Rhodes in Berlin, the long-term direction appears clear.

All signs point to the “Original Tribal Chief” coming for the Undisputed WWE Championship on the grandest stage of them all.

🎰 WrestleMania 42: The Stakes Couldn’t Be Higher

WrestleMania 42 is set for April 18 & 19, 2026, live from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas—and if Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes headlines the event, it could be one of the biggest rematches in WWE history.

With injuries forcing WWE’s hand, the road to WrestleMania just got a lot more unpredictable—and a lot more exciting. 👀🔥
