Seth Rollins Drops Blunt Truth About Today’s WWE: “The Pressure Is Way Higher Than Ever”

Seth Rollins has never been one to hold back—and even while sidelined, The Visionary is still making headlines. The former world champion has been out of action since October 2025 after suffering a serious rotator cuff injury, an unfortunate setback that came during one of the hottest runs of his career. Rollins was reigning as world champion when the injury forced him to step away and eventually undergo surgery, putting his WWE future temporarily on pause.

Months into recovery, Rollins has already admitted that his return timeline remains uncertain. In fact, he has openly said that competing at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas is far from guaranteed, underlining just how difficult this rehab process has been.

The toughest battle of his career

Despite surviving major injuries in the past—including a devastating knee injury in 2015—Rollins recently revealed that this recovery has been the most challenging of his entire career. Adding to the frustration, he was forced to vacate the world title, which later changed hands when CM Punk defeated Jey Uso during Saturday Night’s Main Event late last year.

While focusing on healing, Rollins has also taken time to reflect on the wrestling business itself—and how drastically it has changed.

WWE today is a different world

In a candid interview with Men’s Health, Rollins spoke openly about how modern professional wrestling bears little resemblance to the chaotic industry of the past. According to him, today’s WWE is safer, cleaner, and far more polished—but that evolution comes with a heavy cost.

Rollins explained that if someone made a movie about wrestlers today, it would lack the wild edge that once defined the business. The lighter schedules, increased safety measures, and showbiz-style presentation have replaced the unpredictable, “rodeo-like” atmosphere that older generations experienced.

However, the biggest shift, in his view, is pressure.

“Everything has to be perfect now”

Rollins pointed out that expectations for performers today are at an all-time high. Matches, promos, and performances are judged more critically than ever before, leaving little room for error.

According to Rollins, modern wrestlers are expected to deliver flawless performances every single time. In the past, fans believed what they were seeing was real combat. Today, with audiences fully aware of the business, performers are pushed to hit a near-impossible standard—100 out of 100, every night.

Even while injured, Seth Rollins continues to prove why his voice carries weight in WWE. And when he does return, he’ll be stepping back into a business that demands perfection—no excuses allowed.
