“He’s in My Way” — Gunther Sends Chilling Warning to Roman Reigns After Royal Rumble Win

Roman Reigns’ long-awaited return at the 2026 Royal Rumble instantly reshaped WWE’s main-event picture — and not everyone is happy about it.

After months away from television following his loss at Survivor Series WarGames, Reigns stormed back into WWE by winning the Men’s Royal Rumble match in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. With the victory, “The OTC” has firmly placed himself back at the center of the WWE Universe and on a direct path to WrestleMania.

But one top WWE star is already making it clear that Reigns’ comeback puts him directly in the crosshairs.

Gunther Calls Roman Reigns an “Obstacle”

Speaking after the Royal Rumble, Gunther sat down with Sam Roberts and Megan Morant and made it clear his focus has shifted entirely toward world championship gold.

During the interview, Roberts referenced Gunther’s dominant performance against AJ Styles—a match that effectively ended Styles’ WWE career—before turning the conversation toward WrestleMania. When Roberts pointed out that Roman Reigns now has a clear opportunity to win a World Championship on the grandest stage of them all, he asked whether Reigns would be someone standing in Gunther’s way.

Gunther didn’t hesitate.

“We’ll see. Definitely an obstacle,” The Ring General said, bluntly.

No theatrics. No hesitation. Just a clear message.

WrestleMania Collision Brewing?

Gunther’s words suggest that he sees Roman Reigns not as a legend or an icon — but as a roadblock to his own championship destiny. With Reigns eyeing world title gold and Gunther openly declaring his intent to dominate the top of the card, WWE could be setting the stage for a massive collision.

Coming off AJ Styles’ retirement, Gunther’s momentum has never been stronger. Reports already hint that Randy Orton could be next in his sights, but Roman Reigns’ name now looms large over the WrestleMania picture.

One thing is certain: Roman Reigns may be back on the Island of Relevancy — but Gunther is already looking to tear it down.
