Bryan Danielson Secretly Trained the Bella Twins for Royal Rumble—And Nick Khan Reopened a Door They Thought Was Shut Forever
The Bella Twins’ WWE comeback wasn’t just a nostalgia moment—it was carefully prepared behind the scenes by one of the greatest wrestlers of this generation.
During a recent appearance on Notsam Wrestling Live!, WWE Hall of Famer Brie Bella revealed that she trained for her Royal Rumble return under the guidance of her husband, Bryan Danielson. The former WWE Champion didn’t stop there, as he also worked closely with Nikki Bella to get both sisters ring-ready ahead of the blockbuster event.
Brie didn’t hold back when describing Danielson’s approach.
“Obviously, my husband might be one of the greatest coaches in the world,” she said. “And he’s a very hard coach.”
Nikki backed that up with a laugh, sharing how intense the preparation really was. She recalled showing William Regal the detailed training instructions Danielson was sending her, joking that fans would be shocked if they saw what he expected her to practice daily.
Danielson, who remains under contract with AEW, recently filled in on commentary during Taz’s absence following shoulder surgery. However, since Taz’s return, Danielson has been noticeably absent from AEW programming—making his behind-the-scenes role in the Bellas’ WWE return even more intriguing.
The episode also shed light on how close the Bellas came to never returning at all.

Brie revealed that she had largely given up on the idea after repeatedly being told “no.” By Thanksgiving, she had mentally closed the WWE chapter and started exploring other opportunities for 2026. Then, out of nowhere, WWE President Nick Khan called.
She admitted the call caught her completely off guard and changed everything. Brie credited Khan for reopening a door she genuinely believed had been permanently closed, calling the moment both shocking and deeply meaningful.
Nikki echoed those sentiments, saying her own call from Khan felt sudden and life-altering—the kind of moment that reminds you how fast things can change in wrestling.
The comeback didn’t stop at the Royal Rumble either.
On this week’s episode of WWE Raw, the Bella Twins made their intentions crystal clear. Standing opposite Women’s Tag Team Champions Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY, the sisters sent a strong message to the locker room: they’re back, and they’re coming for the gold.
With elite training, executive backing, and championship ambitions, the Bella Twins’ return looks far from a short-term cameo—it’s the start of something much bigger.
