WrestleMania 42 Bombshell? WWE’s Rising Destroyer Could Be Headed for a Career-Defining War With The Beast

The road to WrestleMania 42 is starting to feel unpredictable, and insiders believe WWE could be preparing one of the most shocking matches in recent history. Behind the scenes, creative discussions are reportedly exploring a long-term push for powerhouse rookie Oba Femi—and it may eventually put him on a collision course with Brock Lesnar.

Femi already turned heads during the Royal Rumble 2026, entering at No. 1 and lasting nearly 40 minutes while eliminating five superstars. His breakout performance instantly sparked buzz about a future showdown with Lesnar, especially since The Beast was the one who ultimately ended Femi’s dominant run.

According to BodySlam+, internal talks about the potential blockbuster match are still ongoing, with no final decision made yet. Interestingly, Femi’s roster status remains fluid. Despite building momentum across major shows, he is technically still listed as a free agent after his run in NXT, although early creative direction reportedly leaned toward placing him on RAW.

Femi has already been showcased as a cross-brand force. He recently dominated tag action on RAW and answered an open challenge on SmackDown, scoring a lightning-fast win in under a minute. WWE is currently advertising him for next week’s RAW episode, while Lesnar is announced for the March 23 show—a scheduling coincidence that has only fueled speculation.

This year’s WrestleMania will take place on April 18 and 19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. The event is set to stream domestically on ESPN and internationally on Netflix, signaling another major shift in WWE’s global distribution model.

Right now, the only officially confirmed WrestleMania match features CM Punk challenging Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship. But if current internal talks turn into reality, WrestleMania 42 could soon add a monster showdown that reshapes WWE’s future main event scene.
