CM Punk Secretly Changed His WWE RAW Shirt On Live TV—And Fans Just Noticed The Real Reason
What looked like a simple arena-exclusive merch moment turned into one of the funniest hidden Easter eggs of the night during Monday’s live show.
During the latest episode of WWE RAW, streaming on Netflix, CM Punk stepped out wearing a special Philadelphia-themed shirt. The show was held at the Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia, and like past arena exclusives for John Cena and Stone Cold Steve Austin, the design was meant to celebrate the host city.
But Punk added his own twist—and it didn’t go unnoticed.
The Shirt That Started It All
The back of the shirt originally read “Philly Is The Best City In The World.” However, during the broadcast, Punk cleverly covered parts of the lettering so it instead read “Phil Is The Best In The World”—a subtle but hilarious nod to himself.
Visually, the shirt also featured orange accents instead of Punk’s usual red lightning bolt and fist logo. The color choice matched the branding of the Philadelphia Flyers, which may not have been an accident.
The Real Reason Might Be Hockey Rivalry

While Punk has historically spoken positively about Philadelphia crowds, he’s also a die-hard fan of the Chicago Blackhawks. That rivalry could explain why he seemingly toned down the “Philly love” on live TV—or he simply couldn’t resist sneaking in another “Best In The World” reference.
Either way, fans loved the detail, especially during what was otherwise a serious segment.
Things Got Heated Fast
Punk’s appearance wasn’t just about merch or jokes. The moment happened during the massive return promo from Roman Reigns, which quickly turned into a heated verbal showdown.
By the end of the confrontation, Reigns laid down a challenge for WrestleMania 42, setting the stage for what could become one of the biggest matches of the year.
