“He Can’t Say That!” Rey Mysterio Left Speechless By Dominik’s Brutal Spanish Trash Talk
The strained father-son relationship between Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio has been a cornerstone of WWE storytelling for years. But in a recent moment that transcended the usual scripted drama, Rey was genuinely caught off guard by the venom in his son’s words, finding himself unable to even translate the insult.
The tension unfolded ahead of a massive title bout south of the border. Dominik is set to put his AAA Mega Championship on the line against the high-flying Hijo del Vikingo at the Rey de Reyes event in Puebla, Mexico, this Saturday. The stakes are incredibly high, with Dominik risking his entire AAA career and Vikingo facing a potential lifetime ban from challenging for the title if he loses.
During a recent episode of AAA on Fox Mexico, Vikingo secured a victory, setting the stage for a champion’s response. Dominik appeared on the video screen to address his challenger directly, speaking in rapid-fire Spanish. However, since Rey Mysterio also works with AAA as a translator, he was forced to sit there and interpret his own son’s taunts for the audience.

It started with a sarcastic jab at Vikingo’s support system. “Congratulations on your victory, Vikingo, because next week it’s gonna be different. And you can bring your 10 kids, your aunts, your uncles, your cousins, and your teachers, cause they said you are not gonna become anything in life,” Dominik stated.
But then, Dirty Dom took it a step further. He looked directly into the camera and hurled a word that crossed a line for his father: “perro.” In this context, the term is a severe insult, akin to calling someone a dog or a much cruder name.
As the word hung in the air, the legendary luchador could be seen physically reacting. Stunned into a momentary silence, Rey threw his hands up in refusal. “He can’t say it,” Rey said flatly, refusing to voice his son’s vulgarity to the viewers. It was a raw, unscripted moment that showed the master of the 619 was truly appalled by the man his son has become.
Dominik promised to show the luchador what it means to be a “real champion” when they finally meet in the ring.
This verbal lashing comes after a tough week for Dominik in WWE. On Monday Night Raw, he failed to capture the Intercontinental Championship from Penta. In a chaotic finish, Dirty Dom attempted to use his Judgment Day cohorts, Finn Balor and JD McDonagh, for a blatant cheat. But when McDonagh tried to hand him the title belt, Balor surprisingly stopped him. The hesitation was all Penta needed, as he wiped out the interference with a suicide dive and planted Dom with a Mexican Destroyer to secure the victory and the gold.
