For weeks, fans have been buzzing about seeing Matt and Jeff Hardy back in the WWE 2K26 video game. But according to Matt Hardy himself, that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
The WWE Hall of Famer opened up on his podcast, “The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy,” and dropped some exciting news that suggests the iconic tag team isn’t just making a cameo—they’re settling back in.
While confirming their inclusion in the highly anticipated Attitude Era-focused edition of the game, Matt revealed that the brothers have officially put pen to paper on a merchandise deal with WWE.
“We have signed an official merch deal with them,” Hardy shared. He added that this is likely just the start, hinting that the partnership could expand into even more opportunities down the line. “We should be in video games for a little while to come, it seems like, and it’s going to be hopefully an expanding deal.”
The timing feels perfect. The Hardys helped define the Attitude Era with their death-defying ladder matches and table-smashing chaos. Matt noted that when WWE started developing this version of the game, the demand from fans to include the duo was overwhelming.
“WWE had reached out to us and they were ecstatic with the feedback it got,” he said. “There’s a lot of people that have supported us for a very long time, especially with that Attitude Era game, they’re like, ‘Come on. You got to have the Hardy Boyz in it.'”
For those keeping track, this marks a significant thaw in the relationship between the Hardys and WWE. After stints in AEW and TNA, the brothers made their return to the WWE universe through the company’s ongoing partnership with TNA, even showing up on “WWE NXT.” Those appearances now seem to have paved the way for a more official, long-term business arrangement.
