Drew McIntyre Admits He Still Hates CM Punk More Than You Think After Their Epic Feud

If you thought the war between Drew McIntyre and CM Punk was over, think again.

Even though their brutal Hell in a Cell match at Bad Blood 2024 officially ended their WWE storyline, McIntyre made it crystal clear that the bad blood is still very real for him.

In a candid new interview on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, the Scottish Warrior didn’t hold back when asked about his current feelings toward Punk.

A piece of crap. Can’t stand him, McIntyre said flatly.

He did admit that he watches Punk every week and acknowledged that Punk is doing good things with the World Title. But even that came with a sharp jab.

As a fighting champion, I think fighting champions are stupid, McIntyre added, pointing out that he was one himself and knows better. He argued that defending the title too often is disrespectful, because the opponent should earn the shot.

Still, McIntyre offered a rare moment of honesty. He admitted that nothing he has done since has matched the electricity of his feud with Punk.

It pains me to admit I’m still chasing the dragon for what I did with him, he said. So opposites attract.

When asked how much longer he plans to keep wrestling, McIntyre said he feels creatively fulfilled and doesn’t see any reason to slow down soon, especially with athletes like LeBron James and Ronaldo still at the top of their game at the same age.

While the two stars are now on different brands, McIntyre on SmackDown and Punk on Raw, many fans believe WWE would be wise to revisit this rivalry down the road. The chemistry was that good. And if the hatred is still this real off-screen, imagine what a second chapter could look like on-screen.
