Roman Reigns Dropped a Bombshell About Jacob Fatu’s Future After Their First War Finally Ended
The first ever one-on-one clash between cousins Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu is officially in the books, and it did not disappoint. At Saturday night’s Backlash, Reigns walked away with the win after hitting Fatu with not one, not two, but three devastating spears. But even that wasn’t enough to put the dangerous newcomer away clean. Reigns had to expose a turnbuckle to set up his final finisher, keeping his World Heavyweight Championship firmly around his waist.
That should have been the end of it. Instead, the real chaos started after the bell.
A furious Fatu snapped. He locked Reigns in the Tongan Death Grip, attacked referee Dan Engler, and took out several match agents without a second thought. As a battered Reigns limped toward the back, he paused, turned around, and delivered a chilling warning that has the WWE universe buzzing.
“This is why we should have never let Jacob in this company,” Reigns said loud enough for everyone to hear. “You don’t belong here, Jacob. There is no order with you. This is your last night here.”
Those words hit hard because the history between them cuts deep.

Even though Jacob Fatu wasn’t there during the original rise of The Bloodline in the early 2020s, his shadow was always present. While Reigns and The Usos dominated WWE, holding the Universal, WWE, and Undisputed Tag Team Championships, Fatu was deliberately left out. The reason? The family considered him too dangerous to bring in.
When Fatu finally made his WWE debut on the June 21, 2024 edition of SmackDown, he aligned with Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga. But that alliance didn’t last. By the 2025 Money in the Bank PLE, Fatu had split from the group and started feuding with names like Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre. Through it all, he never forgot the sting of being told he wasn’t welcome.
That pain led to Saturday night. And with the loss, Fatu now joins Jey Uso as another cousin who fell to Roman Reigns on a major PLE. Jey himself lost to Reigns three times—at Clash of Champions 2020, Hell in a Cell 2020, and SummerSlam 2023.
The bad blood between Fatu and Reigns ignited on the Raw after WrestleMania. Fatu crashed a promo involving Reigns and The Usos, declaring he needed the World Heavyweight Championship. He got his match by proving his dominance days later on SmackDown, single-handedly destroying the MFTs—Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, JC Mateo, and Tonga Loa—right in front of The Usos.
The following week on Monday Night Raw, the cousins had a tense face-to-face. When Reigns told Fatu he hadn’t earned a title shot, Fatu answered with a Tongan Death Grip on the spot. That was all the motivation Reigns needed. He accepted the challenge, and their war officially began.
Now, after Backlash, one question remains: Was Roman Reigns just talking trash, or did he really just fire Jacob Fatu from the company?
