R-Truth Opens Up About the One Thing That Will End His WWE Run Early

For years, fans have assumed R-Truth would keep showing up, delivering laughs and surprise title wins, until his body simply gave out. But a new interview suggests the veteran star may have a very different timeline in mind.

While he just signed a long-term WWE contract, R-Truth is now openly admitting that his in-ring career might end before that deal is even close to finished.

During a recent conversation with Daniel Sadoh, the crowd-favorite was asked to picture the next five years of his professional life. His answer turned heads immediately.

He plans to still be around in some capacity, thanks to a four-year agreement. But when the topic shifted to a potential farewell tour, Truth did not shut it down. Instead, he made it clear the idea is very real.

A farewell tour for me, he said. I am open to it. I have had so many different ideas of how I want that to go down, because it will go down.

The 53-year-old is careful not to speak too soon on the details. He prefers to let the chips fall where they may while continuing to push creative ideas. Still, the message is hard to ignore. Retirement is coming, and it could arrive before his current WWE obligations expire.

This development becomes even more interesting when you look back at January of this year. That is when Truth revealed he had signed a four-year extension that also includes an additional three-year option. In theory, WWE had him locked up until 2030 or beyond.

But that long-term security came only after a shocking moment in June 2025. WWE initially chose not to renew his contract at all. A massive fan outcry followed, and the company quickly reversed course, bringing him back at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view.

Right now, Truth is far from winding down on screen. He remains an active performer on SmackDown and currently holds the WWE Tag Team Championship alongside Damian Priest. The duo has become an unlikely but successful pairing.

Yet behind the gold and the comedy bits, a farewell is clearly on his mind. And for a man who has reinvented himself multiple times over a three-decade career, his final chapter may be written much sooner than the calendar suggests.
