WWE Has No Idea What To Do With CM Punk Right Now And It Makes No Sense
You would think a company like WWE, packed with superstars, would have big plans for someone like CM Punk. But right now, that is not the case.
According to recent reports, the former WWE Champion is simply waiting around for creative direction. That is a strange spot for one of the biggest names in wrestling.
What went wrong? After WrestleMania 42, WWE saw some major roster shakeups. GUNTHER switched brands, and Jacob Fatu moved to Monday Night RAW. These changes pushed a lot of planned storylines aside. And somewhere in that shuffle, CM Punk got left out.
Here is the part that really stings. Punk was originally advertised for WWE’s recent European tour. Then, quietly, he was pulled. No explanation. No new feud. Nothing.
Think about who we are talking about. This is not some midcard talent fighting for screen time. This is CM Punk. The same guy who held the World Heavyweight Championship for 169 days. The same guy who headlined RAW’s top storyline leading into WrestleMania. The same guy who lost his title in the main event of WrestleMania 42 in a match everyone praised. And just 36 days later? No creative plan.
What makes this even more frustrating is how obvious the solutions are.

You want a dream feud? Put Punk against Cody Rhodes. Two of the best talkers in wrestling. Two men obsessed with legacy. The promos alone would sell tickets.
What about Ricky Saints? That is another rivalry full of potential. Punk is at his best when working with younger stars who can trade verbal shots with him. Saints fits that perfectly.
There is only one problem. Both Rhodes and Saints are on SmackDown. Punk is on RAW. And instead of being creative, WWE seems stuck following its own brand split rules.
This exposes a bigger issue with WWE’s current thinking. The company reacts to things instead of planning ahead. One injury, one crowd reaction, or one roster change can completely collapse their creative structure.
And when the person left without a direction is CM Punk, you cannot ignore it anymore. Love him or hate him, fans react to him louder than almost anyone else. His promos trend online. His segments take over wrestling discussion. He makes shows feel unpredictable.
Right now, WWE has that guy sitting on the bench. And nobody seems to know why.
