AJ Styles Just Admitted What Really Happened With That Wild LA Knight Brawl – And It Was Not A Plan

AJ Styles is pulling back the curtain on some of WWE’s most talked-about moments, and his latest candid comments are turning heads.

During a new episode of his ‘Phenomenally Retro’ podcast, the veteran superstar held nothing back. He discussed everything from a shocking championship switch to the corporate reality of working under TKO, and even why fans should stop expecting WWE to ditch its PG rating anytime soon.

First, Styles weighed in on Sol Ruca beating Becky Lynch for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship. While he praised the outcome, he admitted confusion over the decision to put the title on Lynch in the first place.

“That was good. That was the right call,” Styles said. “But I don’t understand why they put that title on Becky in the first place because she lost it within the shortest amount of time. She set a record for 43 days. Sol is the right person to have a championship on.”

Then came the moment everyone is talking about. Styles opened up about his infamous press conference brawl with LA Knight leading into WrestleMania 40. According to him, what fans saw was absolutely not supposed to happen.

“No, it wasn’t supposed to be broken up by security. Because there was no security there to break up a fight. They didn’t know what was going on. I didn’t know what was going to happen. It was not a good thing,” Styles revealed. “I just wanted to remain a heel. But when LA Knight came over and headlocked me, that’s not a good idea. I was good with walking away. Didn’t happen.”

On the topic of TKO’s growing influence over WWE, Styles had a blunt message for frustrated fans. He said people need to take the good with the bad and stop having a permanent “boo-boo face” about everything.

“You’ve got to understand, it is their job to take the blame. That’s their responsibility. But if they do something right, we need to give praise,” he explained. “It’s not going to be perfect all the time. Nobody is.”

Finally, for anyone hoping WWE will suddenly turn bloody and edgy, Styles poured cold water on that idea. He explained that the company’s worldwide reach and family-friendly foundation mean the PG era is here to stay.

“I think there’s a time and a place for a storyline that has some blood in it. I get it. But to say we will go back from PG to PG-13, I don’t know that we do that,” Styles said. “The young is our foundation. We have to be able to put shows in other countries. I just don’t see a time that we come out of the PG era.”
