How Paul Heyman and CM Punk Influenced a WWE Star’s Rise
CM Punk and Paul Heyman are two of the most influential figures in professional wrestling. In 2012, CM Punk’s ascent in WWE was significantly shaped by his partnership with Heyman, who managed him during a critical phase in his career.
Heyman’s guidance was instrumental in Punk’s historic WWE Championship reign, which lasted an impressive 434 days. Heyman’s managerial expertise helped solidify Punk as a top-tier superstar and a major draw for WWE. Though Punk left WWE in 2014, he made a comeback last year and has since been a frequent presence at NXT and the WWE Performance Center, where he’s often seen interacting with up-and-coming talent.
Paul Heyman, known for his dedication to nurturing both current and rising stars within WWE, has long been a mentor and guide for many wrestlers. Recently, former NXT Champion Bron Breakker shared how both CM Punk and Paul Heyman played key roles in his transition to WWE’s main roster.
Bron Breakker on the Support from CM Punk & Paul Heyman
Bron Breakker, who was promoted to WWE’s main roster earlier this year, has quickly made a significant impact. After being drafted to Raw during the WWE Draft in April, Breakker began targeting top stars like Ricochet and Ilja Dragunov, showcasing his dominance. His focus then shifted to Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn.
Breakker recently spoke with TV Insider, where he discussed the support he’s received from Paul Heyman and CM Punk since joining the main roster. He emphasized their vital contributions to his success, saying, “It’s been a combination of many people. Paul Heyman has played a crucial role in my journey on the main roster, and CM Punk as well. The whole locker room has been supportive in various ways. It’s been great to be a part of everything since moving up here.”
At WWE SummerSlam, Breakker achieved a major milestone by defeating Sami Zayn to capture the Intercontinental Championship. He recently solidified his reign by successfully defending his title in a two-out-of-three falls match against Zayn on Raw.
