Liv Morgan Opens Up About Early WWE Challenges and Self-Doubt

Liv Morgan, now a proud WWE Women’s World Champion, recently reflected on the challenges and insecurities she faced when she first joined WWE in 2014. In an interview with US Weekly, Morgan candidly discussed the mix of confidence and self-doubt that accompanied her entry into the wrestling world.

“It was strange because I felt both confident and insecure at the same time,” Morgan admitted. “I wanted to believe I could make it to this point, but deep down, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I wasn’t worthy.”

Morgan described the internal conflict she experienced, oscillating between faith in her potential and a persistent fear that she might not be good enough. “It was a struggle for most of my career,” she revealed.

One of the key sources of her insecurity was the lack of a wrestling background or connections in the industry. Unlike many of her peers, Morgan had no prior experience in sports or wrestling, which made her feel “way behind” in terms of physical training and preparation.

Despite these challenges, Morgan’s journey to WWE was unique. Without any prior connections, her job at Hooters unexpectedly opened a door to the wrestling world. Through an encounter with an athlete, she was introduced to Joe DeFranco, a renowned WWE Strength and Conditioning coach known for his work with Paul “Triple H” Levesque.

Under DeFranco’s guidance, Morgan underwent a rigorous training program that helped prepare her for a WWE tryout. Her determination and hard work paid off, leading to a WWE contract just a few months later.
