Booker T Says WWE Has Its Next Goldberg—And It’s Not Who Fans Might Expect
WWE Hall of Famer Booker T has sparked a lot of buzz with a bold prediction about the company’s future. On a recent episode of his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker pointed to one rising star he believes could be booked in the same dominant way that once made Goldberg a phenomenon.
According to Booker T, that wrestler is Oba Femi.
The two-time Hall of Famer stressed that WWE must be extremely careful with how they handle Femi’s rise, calling him a rare talent you simply cannot afford to mishandle. Booker explained that stars like Femi need to arrive on the main roster at the peak of their momentum, not eased in slowly or cooled off by bad booking.
Booker believes WWE already understands this and plans to debut Femi “white hot,” positioning him as an unstoppable force right out of the gate.
He went a step further by suggesting that Femi could enjoy a Goldberg-style run — a streak built on dominance and invincibility — before finally meeting the one opponent who can realistically hand him his first major loss. In Booker’s view, that moment would come only after Femi has firmly established himself as a top-tier threat and earned a major title opportunity.

The idea of WWE creating another Goldberg-like run has long been debated among fans, especially given how rare that type of booking is in today’s era. But Booker T clearly sees something special in Oba Femi and is eager to watch how WWE unfolds his journey on the main roster.
Interestingly, the discussion around Goldberg doesn’t stop there.
In a separate recent interview on Chris Van Vliet’s Insight podcast, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin addressed a long-standing dream match that never happened: Austin vs. Goldberg. Austin revealed that while the idea was discussed when Goldberg first arrived in WWE, the timing simply wasn’t right. Goldberg, according to Austin, needed more time to settle in and build momentum within WWE before such a massive matchup could take place.
By the time the stars aligned, the moment had passed.
Now, with Booker T openly comparing Oba Femi to Goldberg, the conversation has come full circle — and fans are left wondering if WWE is finally preparing to recreate that kind of unstoppable aura with a new generation powerhouse.
