“Booker T Teases Huge WWE SmackDown Commentary Comeback: ‘I Had So Much Fun, I Want To Do It Again!’”
WWE Hall of Famer Booker T may not be done with Friday nights just yet.
The two-time Hall of Famer recently stepped in for commentary on WWE SmackDown alongside Vic Joseph, filling in for Michael Cole and Corey Graves during WWE’s jam-packed schedule. The result? A nostalgic and surprisingly fun night that has Booker T rethinking his stance on returning full-time.
Currently, SmackDown’s usual commentary team consists of Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett, but with Tessitore covering ESPN College Football this fall and Barrett taking a planned break, WWE shuffled things around. Cole and Graves handled SmackDown last week before shifting gears for WWE-AAA Worlds Collide, leaving Booker T and Joseph to call the action.

Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T couldn’t hide his excitement about revisiting the SmackDown booth:
“When I pulled up to the Norfolk Scope, memories just flooded back from all those WCW days. The fans, the energy—it was amazing. Me and Vic had so much fun. That two hours flew by. I always said I didn’t want to do main roster commentary again, but Friday night made me want more. Hopefully I get another shot.”
For someone who once claimed his commentary days on the main roster were behind him, Booker T’s tune has clearly changed. And with WWE’s ever-busy schedule, there might be more opportunities for him to slide back into the blue brand’s booth.
