Braun Strowman Battles Illness, Forced To Miss Huge WWE Milestone: “Heartbroken” Former Star Shares Emotional Update
Former WWE powerhouse Braun Strowman—once known as The Monster Among Men—has been sidelined by illness, missing out on what could’ve been one of the biggest moments of his post-WWE career.
Earlier this year, Strowman was among the several stars released from WWE after the company decided not to renew his contract in July. While many of his former colleagues quickly found new homes in the wrestling world, Strowman had chosen a quieter route—until recently.
Despite not wrestling since April, rumors suggested that WWE was still interested in bringing Strowman back on a part-time basis within the next year. In the meantime, he shifted gears and made his mark on television through WWE Studios’ latest project, “Everything on the Menu.”
The fun-filled show, airing on the USA Network, features Strowman exploring and devouring unique dishes from various spots across the country. The premiere aired Friday, October 24—but unfortunately, Strowman couldn’t attend the big debut due to a sudden illness.
“I Need To Rest And Put My Health First”
Taking to Instagram, Strowman shared an emotional message with fans, apologizing for missing the official watch party at Big Daddy’s Karaoke Bar in Orlando.
“Hi everyone, I am so sorry and heartbroken to say that I will not be at Big Daddy’s tonight for the premiere of Everything On The Menu. I’ve come down with a terrible cold and I need to rest and put my health first. The love and support I have received for the premiere has been out of this world, and I cannot wait to see how much you all enjoy it tonight.”
Fans flooded the comments section with messages of love and encouragement, wishing the former World Champion a speedy recovery.
Even while under the weather, Strowman’s dedication and gratitude reminded fans why he remains one of WWE’s most beloved giants. And with rumors of a possible return still swirling, it may only be a matter of time before the Monster Among Men storms back into the ring—stronger than ever.
