“Triple H Is a ”Phony”—Bret Hart Explodes on The Game During Live Q&A

Bret “The Hitman” Hart just proved once again that time doesn’t heal all wounds—especially when Triple H’s name comes up.

At a live Inside The Ropes Q&A event in Manchester, the WWE Hall of Famer launched a brutal verbal assault on “The Game,” reigniting one of wrestling’s most infamous rivalries.

Bret Hart Tears Into Triple H

Fans are used to hearing Hart blast Bill Goldberg every few months, but this time the target wasn’t his longtime nemesis. Instead, Hart turned his sights on WWE’s Chief Content Officer Triple H, calling him “a guy I have very little respect for” and flat-out labeling him “a phony.”

The Hitman didn’t hold back, reminding the audience of Triple H’s role in the Montreal Screwjob alongside Shawn Michaels and Vince McMahon. Hart said:

Bret Hart

“They were all such scumbags. Triple H, Shawn, and Vince. They were set out to destroy me.”

But the sharpest dagger came when Hart referenced knocking McMahon out backstage in 1997. With a cold smirk, he added:

“I wish Triple H had been in that dressing room when I knocked Vince out… because he might not be married to Stephanie today.”

The Feud That Never Dies

Hart has been openly critical of Triple H for decades, often dismissing his matches and claiming none of them belong in the “all-time great” category. Even during more recent encounters, the tension hasn’t gone away.

When Raw visited Hart’s hometown of Calgary last year, the two shook hands on camera, but the pleasantries didn’t last. At WrestleMania 41, Hart rolled his eyes on stage after greeting Triple H, a moment fans instantly turned into memes.

While Hart was honored again this year for his legendary WrestleMania 13 match with Steve Austin, it’s clear he has no intention of playing nice with WWE’s top executive.

What’s Next?

Between fiery public jabs, bitter memories of Montreal, and his latest bombshell comments, one thing is certain: don’t expect Bret Hart and Triple H to ever share a friendly WWE TV moment again.

For now, The Hitman seems perfectly happy keeping his legacy intact—while taking shots at The King of Kings whenever he feels like it.
