“I remember watching WrestleMania… it was Vince wrestling good old Donald Trump,” Bret recalled. “I watched it and thought, ‘I can do that.’ And once I thought that, the wheels started turning.”

“They didn’t call me for five months,” Bret said.

Then, out of nowhere, the phone rang — and the timing couldn’t have been more chaotic.

“They finally called and said, ‘It’s a go, but it has to happen next Monday on RAW — or it won’t happen at all.’ I had zero preparation and no idea it was even happening.”
