“It’s Very Much Broken”: Chelsea Green Opens Up About Gruesome Ankle Injury Fans Thought Was a Storyline

When Chelsea Green crashed out of her Triple Threat match on SmackDown earlier this February, fans assumed the worst. But when she showed up the next week in a wheelchair—still barking orders as “Our President”—many wondered if the injury was just a creative way to write her into a new TV role.

Turns out, the pain is painfully real.

In a candid new interview on The Ghosts of Hollywood, the outspoken WWE star finally pulled back the curtain on the severity of her condition, and it sounds far worse than a simple sprain.

“My ankle, it’s broken,” Green revealed. “The inner ankle bone is chipped and cracked. It’s very much broken.”

Despite the damage, Chelsea has remained a constant presence on WWE programming, wheeling around backstage and inserting herself into the political chaos of the brand. She admits that because she’s still visible, some fans have questioned whether the injury was a work. But she insists the recovery is a grind, even if she’s already putting weight on it ahead of schedule.

“I feel like we’re on a good trajectory to make a solid comeback,” she said, offering a glimmer of hope to fans eager to see her back in the ring.

For now, the “Hot Mess” is staying busy running the show from the sidelines—she recently added Randy Orton to her cabinet, because if you’re going to rule from a wheelchair, you might as well hire an Apex Predator.

There’s no official word yet on when Chelsea will be cleared to compete, but if history tells us anything, she’ll find a way to make her return just as chaotic as her exit.
