“Is Chris Jericho’s AEW Run Officially Over? Major Hints Suggest WWE May Be Calling for One Last Legendary Tour”

Chris Jericho has been noticeably absent from the ring for months, and that silence has only fueled louder speculation about what’s next for one of wrestling’s greatest chameleons. With his AEW contract reportedly set to expire by the end of 2025, fans are buzzing about a question that won’t go away: Is Jericho gearing up for one final WWE run?

Despite the nonstop rumors, “The Ocho” has played things close to the vest. Jericho has avoided giving a clear answer about his next destination, but one thing is certain — retirement isn’t on his radar just yet. The former world champion has repeatedly said he still feels he has plenty left to offer the wrestling world.

After a strained relationship with Vince McMahon led to his WWE departure years ago, Jericho reinvented himself once again in AEW. There, he found creative freedom, less pressure, and the chance to help shape a brand from the ground up — all while continuing to do what he loves. His influence on AEW’s early success is undeniable.

Jericho Still Has Gas Left in the Tank

According to Fightful Select, Jericho has no plans to slow down anytime soon. In fact, respected analyst Sean Ross Sapp believes Jericho’s AEW chapter may have simply run its course — not because it failed, but because it’s already delivered everything it could.

“I believe his time with AEW right now is just over,” Sapp explained. “They’ve squeezed all the juice out of that one that they can. It’s not that way in WWE. I think the crowd will react exactly how WWE wants them to for this tour.”

Sapp went even further, suggesting that WWE currently offers Jericho a better pace, stronger creative opportunities, and even fresh crossover potential — especially with WWE’s growing relationships with promotions like TNA and AAA, places Jericho hasn’t explored yet in this stage of his career.

Interestingly, Sapp didn’t rule out a scenario where Jericho does both.

“With Jericho, anything’s possible,” he added. “He could do a retirement tour in WWE and then come back for a true, final retirement match in AEW afterward.”

The Final Chapter Is Still Being Written

One thing is clear: Chris Jericho isn’t done yet. Whether his next act unfolds on WWE television, back in an AEW ring, or across multiple promotions, Jericho seems determined to end his legendary career on his own terms — and in the brightest spotlight possible.

For now, the countdown continues, and the wrestling world waits to see where Y2J pops up next.
