Is Chris Jericho About to Shock WWE RAW Tonight? All Signs Point to a Homecoming

The countdown might finally be over. With WWE celebrating one full year on Netflix, tonight’s episode of Monday Night RAW from Brooklyn’s Barclays Center feels tailor-made for a moment fans have been quietly expecting — the return of Chris Jericho.

Jericho’s AEW contract reportedly expired at the end of 2025, and the hints haven’t exactly been subtle. RAW General Manager Adam Pearce recently teased fans by using the iconic phrase “break down the walls” in promotional material, instantly setting the wrestling world buzzing. When WWE starts winking like that, history tells us it’s usually for a reason.

At 55, Jericho has nothing left to prove — especially in AEW. He was instrumental in launching the company back in 2019, lending instant credibility as its first World Champion and helping elevate stars like MJF, Sammy Guevara, Orange Cassidy, and Daniel Garcia. AEW is stronger today largely because of what Jericho gave it.

But the timing feels right for a change.

Jericho’s later AEW run struggled to catch fire. The “Learning Tree” faction failed to connect, fans openly questioned his continued presence, and chants urging him to retire became impossible to ignore. His exit after dropping the ROH World Championship to Bandido felt less like a storyline beat and more like a natural conclusion.

A WWE return wouldn’t be a rejection of AEW — it would be a veteran recognizing when the chapter is complete.

WWE is where Jericho became a global star. Fourteen years, countless reinventions, and some of the most memorable moments of the modern era happened under that banner. Just like Cody Rhodes and CM Punk, Jericho’s roots run deep in WWE, and the fanbase would welcome him back with open arms.

Creatively, the possibilities are mouth-watering. Jericho has never crossed paths with Roman Reigns, LA Knight, Dominik Mysterio, Logan Paul, Joe Hendry, or Bron Breakker. Even limited programs or promo battles could feel fresh and meaningful. WWE’s current in-ring style also suits him better at this stage, allowing him to maximize his strengths without needing to keep pace with AEW’s punishing tempo.

Jericho has also teased fans with a noticeable body transformation, suggesting he’s not just returning for a wave and a goodbye. Whether it’s a one-year run, a SummerSlam farewell, a special Saturday Night’s Main Event, or a carefully planned retirement tour, WWE has multiple ways to give him the send-off his career deserves — with a Hall of Fame induction waiting on the other side.

Most importantly, Jericho has always protected his legacy. He’s never been afraid to speak up if creative doesn’t make sense, and under Triple H’s leadership, that kind of collaboration has thrived.

So tonight, if the lights dim and the opening notes of “Break the Walls Down” — or even “Judas” — hit the speakers, it won’t just be a surprise pop.

It’ll be Chris Jericho coming home.

And it might be happening sooner than anyone thinks.
