MJF Goes Scorched Earth on CM Punk, Says WWE Champion “Only Beat Me Because of a Fluke”
WWE champions usually worry about challengers inside their own locker room. CM Punk’s problem? His loudest threat right now is coming from outside WWE—and it’s very personal.
AEW star MJF has once again taken aim at Punk, who currently holds the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, and he didn’t bother holding back. The former rivals have a long, bitter history, and according to MJF, the score is far from settled.
Speaking recently on Compass on the Beat, MJF unloaded on Punk with trademark intensity. He made it clear that his desire to fight the WWE champion isn’t about titles, contracts, or brand wars—it’s about pride, ego, and unfinished business.

MJF claimed he would gladly beat CM Punk “just for the fun of it,” insisting he doesn’t need any deeper reason. In his view, Punk’s past win over him was nothing more than luck. MJF pointed directly to interference from Wardlow during their infamous dog collar match, calling Punk’s victory a complete fluke.
The AEW star doubled down by reminding fans that he defeated Punk twice in Chicago—Punk’s hometown—arguing that those wins prove he always had Punk figured out. According to MJF, the only time he ever loses is when someone cheats.
While there’s no sign of these two crossing paths again anytime soon, comments like these keep the rivalry alive in the minds of fans. Whether it’s bitterness, bravado, or genuine animosity, MJF clearly hasn’t moved on—and CM Punk remains firmly in his crosshairs.
