WATCH: CM Punk Nearly Breaks His Back on WWE RAW After Risky Move
WWE RAW delivered a wild moment this week—and not just in the ring. After a heated confrontation between CM Punk & AJ Lee and Seth Rollins & Becky Lynch, fans witnessed a scary (and unintentional) botch from Punk that almost ended in disaster.
Punk’s Painful Ring Exit Goes Wrong
After the segment, instead of leaving the ring the traditional way, Punk decided to get flashy. He attempted to hop over the top rope, land on the apron, and transition into a smooth handstand-style exit.
But things didn’t go as planned. Punk completely miscalculated and slammed his back directly onto the hardest part of the ring — the apron. While he brushed it off and walked away like nothing happened, fans in attendance caught the painful-looking moment on camera, quickly flooding social media with clips.

“Punk nearly breaking his back getting out of the ring 😭” one fan posted alongside the video.
This isn’t the first time Punk has botched this move. Back during his promo battle with GUNTHER ahead of WWE SummerSlam, he tried the same thing — only to land right on his butt.
Vince Russo Questions AJ Lee’s Timing
Meanwhile, former WWE writer Vince Russo weighed in on AJ Lee’s RAW return, questioning the decision to bring her back so soon after Nikki Bella’s return.
Russo argued that WWE is rushing comebacks without giving enough spotlight to each star:
“They just brought Nikki Bella back — that was a big deal. Get Nikki over first before bringing in AJ Lee. Now neither one is going to get the focus they deserve.”
With Wrestlepalooza on the horizon, WWE fans are buzzing over the high-profile couples clash — but Punk’s scary slip proves even legends can have dangerous missteps.
