In WWE’s newest behind-the-scenes vlog covering Punk’s emotional return to Japan earlier this month, “The Best in the World” revealed who he believes are the top two superstars in WWE today — and his answers might surprise you.
According to Punk, Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley stand above everyone else on the roster.
“Iyo Sky is consistently, I think, the best wrestler that we have. Rhea is probably a close second, but you talk about a superstar. And I don’t think it’s a secret that I was one of Rhea’s favorites when she was a kid growing up,” Punk shared. “It’s kind of no different than the fan that says, ‘I’m sober because of you,’ or ‘I waited 19 years to see you.’ I just want to give back because I’m so full of gratitude. Those two are the future.”
Fans got a glimpse of Punk’s chemistry with the two women during the same vlog, which showed an amusing post-match moment. After Punk’s Intercontinental Championship match against Dominik Mysterio ended in a DQ, Ripley and Sky made their presence known — and not in a friendly way.
Ripley distracted Dominik while Sky crouched behind him on her hands and knees. The result? A classic prank — Ripley shoved him backward, sending Mysterio tumbling right into a GTS from Punk, followed by Ripley’s Riptide for good measure.
