🔥 Cody Rhodes Drops Bombshell on Roman Reigns Trilogy – ‘Two Matches Aren’t Enough!’
Cody Rhodes isn’t done with Roman Reigns just yet — and he’s making it crystal clear that a third match needs to happen.
Speaking to Sports Illustrated, “The American Nightmare” admitted that his two epic battles with Reigns feel unfinished.
“You can’t just have two. We’re splitting,” Cody said. “That third match exists. I’m not adverse to it. I’m not sure what his outlook is, but we’re not the same guys we were back then — and that makes it even more interesting.”
For fans, the history between these two is unforgettable.
- WrestleMania 39: Reigns retained his title after Solo Sikoa’s interference.
- WrestleMania 40: Rhodes finally ended Reigns’ legendary 1,316-day reign, with help from John Cena, The Undertaker, and Seth Rollins.
Since then, they haven’t clashed one-on-one, but they did briefly unite at WWE Bad Blood to battle Solo Sikoa & Jacob Fatu. Rumors of a WrestleMania 41 trilogy match even surfaced when Paul Heyman admitted it was “discussed.”
Cody Rhodes Names WWE’s Future Megastars
In a separate chat on The Bill Simmons Podcast, Rhodes gave a nod to the next wave of WWE talent.
- Dominik Mysterio — “Dom already connects with the crowd in a way you can’t teach. He’s only going to get bigger.”
- Oba from NXT — “Really special. One to watch.”
- Ricky Starks & Ethan Page — “Ethan’s skill set is unbelievable. Could be 25 or 50, you can’t tell — but the talent is ageless.”
Cody’s confidence in WWE’s bench strength is sky-high:
“If someone moves on, we’ve got people ready. That’s what I love about where WWE is right now.”
If WWE pulls the trigger on Rhodes vs. Reigns III, it won’t just be another match — it could be one of the biggest trilogies in modern wrestling history.
