Cody Rhodes Reveals What He Still Wants to Learn From John Cena
Cody Rhodes has been the undeniable face of WWE ever since he ended Roman Reigns’ historic run at WrestleMania 40. Later, he won back the Undisputed WWE Championship from John Cena at SummerSlam 2025 — and he’s been carrying the company with pride ever since.
But even as the top guy, Rhodes openly admits there’s still one person he studies closely: John Cena.
Speaking on the What Do You Want To Talk About? podcast, “The American Nightmare” didn’t hold back his admiration for “The Champ.” Rhodes said that before Cena hangs up his boots for good, he wants to absorb and learn as much as possible from him — especially when it comes to Cena’s incredible physical presence.
“I always look at Cena’s career, and I try to steal as much as I can,” Cody joked. “One thing he did better than almost anyone was feats of strength. He had this unbelievable power — because he really was that strong.”
Rhodes and Cena have already written two major chapters in their rivalry. Cena took the title from Cody at WrestleMania 41, only for Rhodes to win it back at SummerSlam a few months later. And even after sharing the ring twice on the biggest stages, Cody still sees Cena as someone he can learn from.
It’s a rare glimpse of humility from the reigning Undisputed WWE Champion — and a reminder that even at the top, Cody Rhodes is still chasing greatness.
