WWE Fans Are Convinced Cody Rhodes Just Teased a Secret Weapon for WrestleMania

Just when it seemed like Randy Orton had all the answers, Cody Rhodes may have just revealed he’s got a few tricks up his sleeve, too.

With WrestleMania 42 rapidly approaching, all eyes are on The American Nightmare as he prepares to defend his Undisputed WWE Championship against The Viper. The tension has been boiling for weeks, especially since Orton turned heel and left Rhodes laying during a contract signing. To make matters worse, Orton has been playing mind games, holding cryptic backstage conversations with a mystery caller, leaving fans to speculate that a secret ally is waiting in the wings to tip the scales in his favor.

But in a twist no one saw coming, it looks like Rhodes might have a backup plan of his own.

Kevin Owens, who has been sidelined for nearly a year due to a serious neck injury, suddenly broke his silence in a major way. The former champion took to social media to post a video featuring Cody Rhodes’ plush puppet, set to Rhodes’ entrance music. For those reading between the lines, the message felt clear: Owens is firmly in Cody’s corner for the fight against Orton.

This isn’t coming out of nowhere. Before Owens was forced to step away following a one-level neck fusion surgery last July, his storyline was deeply intertwined with both Rhodes and Orton. What started as an alliance soured into a bitter rivalry, with Orton getting caught in the crossfire. The three were on a collision course that was supposed to culminate in a high-profile match at WrestleMania 41, but those plans were scrapped when Owens was medically pulled from the event.

Now, while WWE remains optimistic about Owens returning sometime in late 2026, his in-ring status is still up in the air. But that doesn’t mean he can’t make his presence felt.

With The Viper already rumored to have a mystery partner waiting, the timing of Owens’ post has fans buzzing that the “Prizefighter” is about to return the favor—not just to settle old scores with Orton, but to ensure his former rival Rhodes walks out of The Showcase of Immortals with the title still in hand.
