“He’s a Fake Mexican”: Penta Unloads on Dominik Mysterio After IC Title Win
The hits just keep on coming for Dominik Mysterio. After a brutal week that saw him lose his Intercontinental Championship on Raw, “Dirty Dom” is now dealing with the fallout of a scathing personal attack from the very man who took his title.
Penta, who finally captured the gold by defeating Mysterio earlier this week, isn’t stopping at just holding the championship. In a new interview, the luchador has doubled down on his disdain for the former champ, launching a blistering verbal tirade that goes far beyond the squared circle.
When asked about his long-standing issues with the younger Mysterio, Penta didn’t hold back, questioning Dom’s identity both inside and outside the ring.
“He’s a fake Mexican. He’s a fake son. He’s a fake husband. He’s a fake friend. He’s a fake wrestler,” Penta stated in a recent interview with No-Contest Wrestling.
Penta then took aim at what he perceives as a lack of authenticity, challenging Dom’s heritage directly. “Tell me something – where is Dom’s passport from?” Penta asked, drawing a clear line between their backgrounds. “I am from Ecatepec – real hood Mexico, brother. This is the difference between him and I.”
The victory on Raw was a long time coming for Penta, who has had his sights set on Mysterio ever since his explosive debut in January 2025. His issue with Dom stems from the years of disrespect Dom has shown his legendary father, Rey Mysterio.
To add insult to injury, Dominik’s rough week started even before the title match. He was also the first WWE Superstar to fall victim to a “curse” from the newly arrived Danhausen during the Elimination Chamber event, seemingly sealing his fate before stepping into the ring with Penta.
With the Intercontinental Championship now around Penta’s waist and tensions boiling over, this rivalry shows no signs of cooling down.
