During an appearance on Cheap Heat, McIntyre revealed his burning desire to face Cena before the 16-time world champion officially hangs up his boots this December.
“The John Cena we’re seeing right now, that’s the Cena I wanted to see. He’s been killing it on this farewell run. Super Cena is back, and I want that version of him,” McIntyre said.
McIntyre made it clear that while Cody Rhodes is his current mountain to climb, Cena is the ultimate test he wants before calling himself the best in the business.
“First, I need to beat Super Duper Cody—because that’s what he is right now. But once I do that, I want to take down Super Cena. I want that chance to prove I belong at the very top.”
With Cena’s farewell tour in full swing and McIntyre hungrier than ever, the WWE Universe could be in for a dream clash before the year ends.
