Drew McIntyre’s WWE Future Sealed—Fans Stunned By Long-Term Contract & Shocking Missed Opportunity

Drew McIntyre isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. According to a new report from Fightful Select, the former WWE Champion’s contract extension — signed in 2024 — will keep him locked into WWE until WrestleMania season in 2028.

This long-term deal comes right after an unexpected twist: former WWE head writer Vince Russo publicly invited McIntyre to wrestle for Juggalo Championship Wrestling, the independent promotion he recently invested in. McIntyre had shown interest in JCW during his time on the independent scene, but talks never materialized into a deal. Now, with his WWE future firmly set, that door appears officially closed.

McIntyre’s Current WWE Run

Right now, McIntyre is deep in a heated rivalry with Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship. He recently challenged Rhodes at the November 1 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event but fell short once again — marking his second major championship loss to Rhodes, following their clash at Wrestlepalooza.

Despite back-to-back setbacks, McIntyre remains one of WWE’s top stars, and with a contract keeping him in the company for years, fans can expect plenty more high-stakes battles and championship pursuits ahead.
