Jeff Jarrett Drops Major Hint on AJ Styles’ Future After Royal Rumble Loss

AJ Styles’ status has quickly become one of the most talked-about mysteries in professional wrestling, and Jeff Jarrett just added more fuel to the speculation.

Styles’ hard-fought loss to Gunther at the Royal Rumble sparked widespread debate, with many fans wondering whether they had just witnessed his final WWE match—or something even bigger. While Styles’ future remains unclear, Jarrett believes the story is far from over.

Speaking on the latest episode of My World, Jarrett made it clear that he doesn’t buy into the idea that AJ Styles is done for good.

“We have not seen the last of AJ Styles in the ring,” Jarrett said. “It could be a year, it could be two years—I don’t know. But if you watched that match, especially the false finishes, the ending was done really well and both guys came out looking strong.”

Jarrett also pointed to the post-match moment that left fans guessing. Styles teased removing his gloves, a gesture often associated with retirement, but stopped short—something Jarrett described as deliberately intriguing.

“The glove tease and then not doing it, that’s curious,” he added. “It’s easily one of the top stories right now when it comes to what happens next.”

While Styles’ future remains uncertain, Jarrett emphasized that Gunther emerged as the biggest winner from the match. According to “Double J,” defeating Styles added more momentum to The Ring General than even some of his previous marquee victories.

With the Road to WrestleMania now in full gear, Gunther is expected to play a major role heading into WWE’s biggest event of the year. As for AJ Styles, he may be off the WrestleMania card—but if Jarrett is right, his in-ring story is far from finished.
