🔥 Trial Twist in Liv Morgan Stalker Case: Insanity Defense Could Push Court Date Back Again

A major update has surfaced in the unsettling case involving WWE star Liv Morgan and her alleged stalker — and it could mean more delays ahead.

A possible trial date has now been floated for Shawn Chan, the man accused of stalking Morgan, but there’s a big legal curveball that may derail those plans. According to new court filings, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida (Tampa Division) has asked both prosecutors and the defense to confirm whether January 12, 2026 works as a trial date. Both sides must respond by December 19.

However, things may not move forward so smoothly.

Court documents dated December 14 reveal that Chan’s legal team is preparing to file a Rule 12.2(b) notice, which signals an insanity defense. If that happens, prosecutors could request yet another continuance — meaning the trial may be pushed back once again.

Chan was initially scheduled to go to trial in November, but the case was already delayed to the January 2026 term.

As previously reported, Chan was arrested in June in Florida after allegedly traveling from Canada to Orlando and attempting to gain access to Liv Morgan’s home on May 31. Authorities say he told customs agents he planned to stay at the WWE Performance Center, raising immediate red flags.

The situation escalated when Chan later appeared at an NXT taping, where WWE security reportedly recognized him and alerted law enforcement. He was arrested on-site and charged with interstate domestic violence.

If convicted, Chan could face up to five years in federal prison.

For now, the WWE Universe — and Liv Morgan’s supporters — await confirmation on whether January 12 will truly be the day this disturbing case finally reaches the courtroom, or if yet another delay is looming.
