Mark Henry Reflects on Telling Vince McMahon He Was Heading to AEW to Compete Against WWE
WWE legend Mark Henry has shared the info of his communication with former WWE CEO Vince McMahon after finding out to sign up for AEW.
In 2021, Henry transitioned to AEW as a train and commentator, pushed by way of his dissatisfaction with no longer being offered an executive function in WWE. During his communication with McMahon, he overtly said his intentions to assist AEW surpass WWE in the scores, emphasizing that their dialogue holds valuable training for others.
“I informed Vince, ‘Hey, guy, I’m going over there to try to make that region higher and beat you within the rankings.’ (laughs) And Vince responded, ‘I realize you are.’ It wasn’t a heated argument; we parted on precise terms. Henry’s departure from WWE seems to have been as amicable as his exit from AEW. Recently, he has been involved with WWE again through an AEW.
