Matt Hardy Clears Up Confusion About WWE–TNA Partnership & AEW Comments

Matt Hardy has stepped in to clear the air after his recent comments about the WWE–TNA partnership stirred up debates online. Speaking on the latest episode of Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, the TNA star addressed the chatter that came after Tony Khan discussed the Hardy Boyz during an interview with Ariel Helwani.

Hardy said he appreciated Khan’s kind words, but felt fans twisted his previous statements about the WWE–TNA collaboration.

Hardy On Seeing Tony Khan’s Interview

Hardy revealed he saw clips of Khan’s interview after being tagged repeatedly on social media:

“I did get to see bits and pieces of it… my name was all over Twitter, so yes, I definitely saw it.”

Hardy Says His Words Were Misinterpreted

Hardy explained that some fans misrepresented what he said regarding the WWE–TNA working relationship being created to hurt AEW:

“People turned it into, ‘The TNA–WWE relationship exists to hurt AEW,’ which is NOT what I said.
I simply meant the partnership likely happened because AEW is around. Not as an attack on them.”

He added that while fans may have run with their own interpretations, he appreciated Tony Khan repeatedly praising both him and Jeff Hardy during the interview.

Hardy Wants To Keep His Opinions Fair & Balanced

Hardy also spoke about how seriously he takes giving honest, unbiased opinions on his podcast:

“I really pride myself on being fair and objective. I don’t bury people, I don’t spread negativity. Life is too short for that.”

He said his goal is always to assess situations honestly and respectfully, without taking cheap shots at anyone in the business.
