“John Cena Is DONE Wrestling… But Natalya Reveals the Powerful New Role That Could Change WWE Forever”
John Cena may have wrestled his final match, but according to WWE veteran Natalya, his influence on the company is far from over. The 17-time world champion officially closed the in-ring chapter of his legendary career when he faced GUNTHER at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Washington, DC. Cena came up short in his farewell bout, a decision that sparked mixed reactions from fans—but win or lose, his legacy remains untouchable. Few superstars have shaped WWE the way Cena has, both inside the ring and on a global stage.
Natalya Breaks Down Cena’s Next WWE Chapter
While many legends eventually return for “one last match,” Cena has made it crystal clear: his wrestling days are over. Instead, he’s already signed a new deal with WWE that will see him continue with the company in a different capacity—as an ambassador and on-screen presence when needed. WWE has even confirmed that Cena will appear on the Raw episode following WrestleMania 42 in 2026.
But Natalya believes that’s just the beginning.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, the longtime WWE veteran shared glowing praise for Cena and revealed just how valuable he could be behind the scenes.

“John can do anything and everything,” Natalya said. “There’s no area in WWE that John can’t be a part of.”
She compared Cena’s potential role to other respected figures in the company—Shawn Michaels guiding NXT, Triple H running Raw and SmackDown, and The Undertaker contributing his experience elsewhere. In her eyes, Cena belongs in that same elite category.
Could John Cena Be WWE’s Next Mastermind?
Natalya went a step further, suggesting that Cena could become a top-tier producer and creative force in WWE’s future.
“He’s the ultimate producer,” she explained. “Helping new talent, building stories, working on matches—maybe even stepping into creative.”
And in a statement that’s sure to get fans talking, Natalya added that she’d fully support Cena working on women’s matches as well.
“I wouldn’t be against Cena producing the women’s matches.”
The End of an Era… or the Start of a New One?
John Cena may never lace up his boots again, but if Natalya’s words are any indication, his fingerprints could soon be all over WWE’s next generation. From mentoring rising stars to shaping storylines behind the curtain, Cena’s next role might end up being just as impactful as his legendary run in the ring.
The face that once ran the place may now be preparing to run the future.
