Femi went face-to-face with Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes in a highly anticipated champion-vs-champion showdown. Although the match never reached a clean finish due to Drew McIntyre storming in and attacking Rhodes, one thing was crystal clear: the crowd reaction for Oba Femi was massive.
Making his first-ever main roster match appearance, Femi received a thunderous ovation the moment his music hit — and according to him, that reaction was no accident.
While speaking on the WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event Recap, Femi confidently stated that the loud cheers didn’t surprise him at all. He believes years of grinding in NXT earned him that moment.
“This just shows how much work I’ve put in,” Femi said. “I’m undeniable now. My NXT run spoke for itself, and tonight the crowd reacted like I’ve been here for decades.”
Femi explained that he never felt out of place standing across from one of WWE’s biggest stars. In his mind, the fans already knew he belonged on that stage.
“They chanted with my theme. I saw the Oba Feminists in the crowd doing the ‘hoo.’ I knew it was coming,” he added confidently.
In a bold statement that turned heads, Femi even suggested that while Cody Rhodes is a proven superstar, he was the real attraction that night.
“They’ve seen Cody Rhodes a thousand times,” Femi said. “This was special. The Ruler is what they came to see.”
