The Viper Is Ready To Strike: Did Randy Orton Just Tease A Legend’s Return?
The legend known as Randy Orton has spent decades perfecting the art of the unexpected. But his latest move on Monday Night Raw has the entire WWE Universe playing detective, trying to figure out who he was talking to on the phone.
While many expected The Viper to appear in the arena to explain his vicious betrayal of Cody Rhodes, he kept everyone guessing. Appearing via satellite from a secret location, Orton ignored Michael Cole’s questions and instead let the audience eavesdrop on a very intriguing phone call.
We couldn’t hear the voice on the other end of the line, but we heard Orton loud and clear. He told the mystery person that “everyone is watching SmackDown,” that “it is time,” and that he would “see him soon.” It was short, sweet, and chilling.
When he finally addressed Cole and the WWE audience, Orton explained his recent attack on his former friend with a cold, calculated tone. He mentioned having a recent conversation with someone “who had a brain,” calling it “profound.” He then looked down the lens and reminded everyone exactly who he is.
“I am a killer,” he stated, with the kind of delivery that sends shivers down your spine.
Before signing off, Orton dropped a clue that has fans buzzing. He claimed that “wrestling has more than one royal family.” Is he talking about his own bloodline?
Is The Orton Family Coming Back To Haunt WWE?

That phrase, “royal family,” is a direct nod to his own legendary lineage. As a third-generation superstar, following his father “Cowboy” Bob Orton Jr. and his grandfather Bob Orton Sr., Randy might be hinting that his recent change of heart is a family affair.
Could the return of his father be the guiding hand behind this new, ruthless attitude? While that’s the leading theory right now, WWE is keeping the lid tightly shut on the identity of the person on the phone.
What we do know for sure is that this is all leading to the main event of Night One of WrestleMania 42. After earning his shot by winning the Elimination Chamber, and watching Rhodes snatch the title from Drew McIntyre, Orton is ready for a fight.
On the March 13 episode of SmackDown, what was supposed to be a celebratory contract signing for their title match turned into a massacre. Orton snapped, battering Rhodes with a steel chair and leaving him lying in a pool of his own blood while holding the Undisputed WWE Championship aloft.
Now, the stage is set for an explosive showdown on April 18 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. But between now and then, one massive question remains: When Orton shows up on SmackDown this Friday, will he be walking alone?
