WWE Fans Are Convinced They Just Spotted Randy Orton’s Secret Caller, And The Timing Is Crazy

Here is a twist in the Randy Orton saga that nobody saw coming, and it might just connect two of the biggest wrestling dynasties in history.

Ever since Randy Orton blindsided Cody Rhodes two weeks ago on SmackDown, the WWE Universe has been fixated on one burning question: who has been on the other end of the phone? The Viper has been shown deep in conversation with a mystery figure, and the speculation has reached a fever pitch.

While fans have been combing through every episode of Raw looking for clues, the answer may have just surfaced in the unlikeliest of places—a random radio interview.

Scott Gilbert, the attorney for Ted DiBiase Jr., recently appeared on the “Clay Edwards Show.” In a bizarre moment caught on camera, DiBiase Jr. walked into the background of the live shot while talking on the phone. When the host pressed Gilbert about who his client was speaking to, the attorney gave a coy non-answer that has set the wrestling world on fire.

During the segment, DiBiase could be heard uttering a date: “April 19th. Vegas.”

For those keeping score at home, WrestleMania 42 is scheduled for April 18. Orton is already booked to challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Title on that night. So why would a potential ally be booking travel for the day after The Show of Shows?

The speculation is writing itself. With Orton recently cutting promos about how “wrestling has more than one royal family,” fans immediately connected the dots to the DiBiase legacy. After all, Rhodes and DiBiase Jr. were Orton’s proteges in the legendary Legacy faction back in 2008. Now, with DiBiase Jr. recently being found not guilty in the Mississippi welfare fraud case, the timing feels too perfect to ignore.

But there is another theory making the rounds that is just as compelling.

WWE veteran Tommy Dreamer weighed in on “Busted Open Radio” with a different name in mind. Dreamer suggested that when Orton speaks of a “royal family,” he might not be referring to the DiBiases—he might be referring to the Samoans.

“I think The Rock’s talking to Randy Orton,” Dreamer said.

He pointed out that if Orton is invoking the legacy of his own father, “Cowboy” Bob Orton, the only other family with that level of generational prestige in WWE is The Rock’s lineage. It would certainly explain the level of secrecy and the high-stakes vibe surrounding the calls.

Whether it is the prodigal son of the DiBiase family returning to stand with his old mentor, or The Final Boss playing chess from afar, one thing is clear: whoever is on that phone is about to change the landscape of the Undisputed WWE Title match at WrestleMania.

And with DiBiase Jr. circling April 19 in Vegas, fans are already wondering if the real fallout isn’t the match itself, but the night after.
