WWE Legend Reveals Why He Was BANNED From Attending Ric Flair’s Last Match

Ric Flair’s real last match was packed with drama, blood, and legendary names at ringside – but one very familiar WWE face was shockingly missing.

On July 31, 2022, “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair laced up his boots one final time in a Jim Crockett Promotions special event. Flair teamed with Andrade El Idolo to defeat Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett in a match that had fans biting their nails as the 73-year-old icon bled heavily but still managed to secure the win.

The card featured big names like Jacob Fatu, The Briscoes, Motor City Machine Guns, Josh Alexander, and Jordynne Grace – while ringside was stacked with legends including The Undertaker, Bret Hart, and Mick Foley. But fans quickly noticed one huge absence: longtime WWE referee “Little Naitch” Charles Robinson.

Why Charles Robinson Was Missing

Robinson, who has a deep history with Flair dating back to WCW and even refereed Flair’s emotional “retirement” match against Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 24, revealed the shocking reason he wasn’t there.

Speaking with Chris Van Vliet, Robinson admitted he was denied permission to attend:

“Ric had to do what he had to do. This is a hard business, and walking away is never easy. When he did his retirement match in Nashville, people expected me to run down the ramp. But the truth is—I was denied permission to go, which I probably should’ve been.”

Instead, fellow referee Mike Chioda stepped in for Flair’s swan song.

Robinson Still Making Headlines

Interestingly, Robinson was back in the spotlight not long ago during Goldberg’s final match at Saturday Night’s Main Event. After being speared by mistake, Robinson even faked a rib injury—sharing a bogus x-ray online—to stir up more heat on Goldberg.

Even though he wasn’t allowed to be part of Flair’s last dance, Robinson’s legacy as one of wrestling’s most beloved referees remains firmly intact.
