Recently, Flair opened up about an unexpected moment that left even The Nature Boy shaken — a last-minute match against Brock Lesnar that he didn’t see coming.
During an appearance on Games with James, Ric Flair recalled how Vince McMahon blindsided him by announcing he’d be facing Lesnar that same night — without any prior notice or even his wrestling gear on hand.
“I’m 56 years old and I have to wrestle Brock Lesnar,” Flair said. “Steve had quit, so I got to TV and Vince said, ‘Where’s your gear?’ I told him I didn’t bring it because I thought I was just the co-owner of the company. He said, ‘You were. Now you’re wrestling tonight… against Brock.’”
Caught completely off guard, Flair admitted he had just one plea before stepping into the ring with the most dangerous man in WWE:
“When Brock grabs you, you feel it. I used to go, ‘Easy, brother… easy!’”
The 16-time World Champion went from boardroom to body slam in a matter of minutes, proving once again that in WWE — you never know when you’ll get called to fight The Beast.
